‘Astigs’ replaces ‘Abt Ur Luv’
Tomorrow, Jan. 12, a new show takes over the time slot of "Abt Ur Luv!"
Starting this Saturday, we can all look forward to "Astigs," a teen-oriented show, that will
showcase different stories, each story running for six weeks. The regular cast of "Astigs" is composed of AJ Perez, Chris Gutierrez, Angelo Patrimonio, Enchong Dee and Dino Imperial.
For the initial offering, the story is about four high school guys who have a simple wish, which is to be accepted in school for who they are. And just like any other kid, they dream to be popular. One sure way to be known is to belong in a school club. But no one wants to accept them so they decide to put up a club of their own which they call ASTIG with the vision of "in ang maging unique."
Andoy (Dino Imperial), the leader of the club is a fashion disaster. He is an ukay guy who thinks he is stylish when in fact everybody, even his sister Joselyn (Lauren Young) laughs at him. His father Rico (Bob dela Cruz) is a one-hit wonder in the 70s and it is his mother Geraldine (Nene Tamayo) who is the breadwinner of the family. She’s a masseuse in a spa frequented by rich people.
Sean (Chris Gutierrez) is allergic to almost everything but he is a nice guy who loves to help. He’s very nervous though and has panic attacks when under pressure. Ipe (Enchong Dee) is insecure because of how he looks. He has acne on his face but he loves to sing a lot. Galo (Angelo Patrimonio) is a disaster magnet wherever he goes but he still finds good in everything. With a lot of difficulty, they find the 5th member which will make their club an official one, Tyler (AJ Perez). He is the most normal among them but he’s a slow learner.
Later on, they also find out that Tyler has a rivalry with the cool guy at school, Ilai (Carlo Guevarra). This becomes a major source of conflict between the two groups. It also doesn’t help that Andoy is in love with April (Empress Schuck), the cool girl who Ilai is in love with.
Because of this, a rivalry between the two group starts. The cool group tries their best to sabotage the plans of the Astigs. The Astigs on the other hand try to be as patient as they can but they also learn how to fight in their own way, which just makes the cool group want to dissolve their group.
Their new friendship will be put to the test especially when they are faced with families and love problems. But in the end, they are able to keep the club and the friendship while still staying true to themselves and though they will not have popularity, they will gain acceptance and respect.

BUKAS, January 12, may bagong show na tatangkilikin kapalit ng Abt Ur Luv — ang Astigs, bagong teen-oriented show na may iba’t ibang kuwentong tatagal ng anim na linggo ang bawat isa. Ang cast ng Astigs ay sina AJ Perez, Chris Gutierrez, Angelo Patrimonio, Enchong Dee at Dino Imperial.
Para sa unang offering, ang kuwento ay tungkol sa apat na bagets na ang tanging hiling ay matanggap “for who they are.”
Type nilang maging popular at alam nilang para makilala, dapat silang mapabilang sa school club.
Pero, walang gustong tumaggap sa kainla, kaya nagtayo sila ng sariling club, ang Astig, na ang vision ay “in ang maging unique.”

Isa siyang “ukay guy” na feeling stylish, pero pinagtatawanan ng lahat, pati na ng sister niyang si Joselyn (Lauren Young).
Daddy nila si Rico (Bob dela Cruz), ang one-hit wonder noong ’70s, at nanay nila si Geraldine (Nene Tamayo), breadwinner ng pamilya’t masahista sa isang sosyal na spa.
Allergic si Sean (Chris) sa halos lahat ng bagay, pero nice guy na mahilig tumulong sa nangangailangan.
Nerbiyoso siya’t nagpapanic-attack ’pag under pressure.
Si Ipe (Enchong) naman, insecure dahil sa pimples. Mahilig siyang kumanta.
Disaster magnet naman si Galo (Angelo), pero walang masamang tinapay sa kanya.
Hirap silang humanap ng ikalimang member, pero makikilala nila si Tyler (AJ).
Si Tyler ang pinakanormal, pero medyo slow learner.
Malalaman nilang may karibal si Tyler sa school, si Ilai (Carlo), kaya magkakaroon ng labanan ang dalawang grupo.
Isa pa, parehong type nina Andoy at Ilai si April (Empress Schuck).
Dahil dito, pilit sasabotahehin ng mga cool guy ang mga plano ng mga Astig.
Dahil sa challenges, masusubukan ang pagiging magkakaibigan ng mga bagets.
Sa huli, mananatili silang matatag at kahit ’di sikat, tanggap at respetado naman ng lahat.
Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv (Ur Lyf 2) ends as a new series titled Astigs begins.

The original anthology, Star Magic Presents, became a continuing teen show and renamed Star Magic Presents: Abt Ur Luv (retitled Abt Ur Luv: Ur Lyf 2 by the second season). The Star Magic talents were led by the love team of Shaina Magdayao and Rayver Cruz.
With an original cast of 19 talents, nag-graduate ang ilan at pinalitan naman sila ng bago. Among the graduates of the first season were Denise Laurel and Joaqui Mendoza at ang mga nadagdag naman ay galing sa 15th batch ng Star Magic, tulad nina Martin del Rosario, Krista Valle and then later on sina Megan Young and Alfonso Martinez. The latest addition is Be Bench winner Carlo Guevara.
The Kapamilya Network has been preparing for the fourth season finale for Abt Ur Luv but management decided to replace this with another teen-oriented show titled Astigs starring Abt Ur Luv graduates AJ Perez, Chris Gutierrez, Angelo Patrimonio, Enchong Dee, and Dino Imperial.
Six weeks ang itatagal ng bawat kuwento and for its first offering, magi-guest ang mga kapwa Abt Ur Luv alumnae na sina Lauren Young, Carlo Guevara at Empress Schuck, together with Pinoy Big Brother Season One housemates Nene Tamayo and Bob Dela Cruz.
Astigs is still directed by Abt Ur Luv director Erick Salud and will start its telecast this Saturday, January 12.
